Three months old!

Grandpa P. making her laugh.

Cousin Anna & Margaux.
...She smiles and laughs all the time now. She has times during the day when she jabbers nonstop. She likes to play and she is very alert and aware to sounds and follows with her eyes. She is a good sleeper at night. She LOVES her Fisher-Price Aquarium Bouncer! She's our angel.

Inauguration Eve

Looking forward to tomorrow's Inauguration festivities because I think Barack Obama is going to do great things for this country and the sense of joyous celebration around the world right now is a nice diversion from the doldrums this country has been in. Back to dealing with the mess on Wednesday, but tomorrow is going to be a historical day to remember. What I am not looking forward to is reporting to work tomorrow morning. My maternity leave is over. 12+ weeks sure does fly by when all you want to do is be with your baby! I feel very fortunate to have my job and I adore my coworkers, but it is going to be difficult to be away from Margaux for 14 hours. I keep reminding myself that it's ONLY three days a week! My mother-in-law is here this week to help us out and my sister-in-law and the kids will be arriving on Wednesday morning for a visit. Margaux will be 3 months old on the 24th and she is so much fun! She is very aware of her surroundings now and she laughs and jabbers and is learning what "play" is all about. Stay tuned for picture updates later this week...

Happy New Year

It looks like she's excited about some of her Christmas toys!

Booties from Auntie Bex.

Snow Baby.

Daddy & Margaux up north.
We returned on Tuesday night from a week with our families in Michigan. The drive up north took us 12.5 hours due to horrible weather conditions and we were both sick, so that was no fun! However, it was so wonderful to spend time with both of our families and have Margaux meet more relatives.
I hung the new calendar today and I could hardly believe how quickly 2008 flew by. It seems like just yesterday that I was starting this blog with one of my first posts featuring a countertop full of fertility meds. Here it is a year later already and so much has changed. I am nowhere near as fit as I was on 1/1/08, but that will come back with time and hard work. My house is a lot less organized than it used to be and I am actually okay with that because my diverted focus is on Margaux. I don't want to miss one snippet of this time with her because my priority was the dust. Best of all, I have realized my fullest capacity to love because of my daughter. She makes me want to be the absolute best person I can be.
We had so much to be thankful for this year and we appreciate you, our family and true friends, and wish you all the best in 2009!
