San Diego Trip: San Diego Zoo Safari Park

I love that they bring animals out for educational purposes.

She always has love for the petting zoo animals!
Lorikeet Landing...you feed them their nectar and they swarm you!

 Lorikeet Landing...on MVP's head!

Beautiful terrain.  This is where you go down for the different safaris.

I was able to capture several close-up elephant shots!

This cheetah is resting after her running demonstration.  She is FAST!!!

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park up in Escondido is absolutely amazing!  The grounds are just beautiful and the animals have such large areas in which to roam.  Many of the animals were rescued from different places around the world.  We did the African Safari Tram, which was included with admission, and is small child friendly.  The other safari options are for children a bit older and adults.  There is a zip line safari and some more private safaris that take you even more up close and personal to some of the animals.  The Roar & Snore looks like a lot of fun, you get to explore and spend the night in their tent camp!  It was funny to watch and photograph Margaux and Daddy feeding the Lorikeets...at one point Patrick had about 20 of them on him!  Margaux looked a little unsure at first, but then decided it was pretty funny that they were perched on her arms and head! I wish the tigers had been closer to our lookout point, but I will say that when I heard one of them roar, it sent a chill up my spine, even from a distance!
