Happy Father's Day

Patrick was in Michigan overnight to do a triathlon and it sounds like he enjoyed himself.  Upon his return, Margaux was eager to give him his gifts and cards.  She wanted to get him a bow tie and a tool.  He doesn't wear bow ties and I know NOTHING about what tools he has or wants!  So, we fashioned him a crafty bow tie and we got him a Keurig...in purple as chosen by Margaux, because purple is his favorite color!  (I was voting for orange or red, to kind of blend with the kitchen, but it's not about me!  LOL)  She sure loves her Daddy!  I am missing my dad today, as I often do.  Happy Father's Day!

Candyland Recital

Margaux's first ballet recital!  Nothing cuter than a ton of wee ballerina's running around in tutus and ADORABLE candy costumes! (Margaux's group was candy hearts.)  It was quite an elaborate production!  Well done, Margaux!  Well done, Academy of Movement & Music!  Thanks, Ms. Gina & Mia!  Thanks for coming, Aunt Susie!  Looking forward to starting again in the fall!

Fierce Girl!

Margaux had been asking us about taking karate classes for quite some time, and luckily, the park district of Elmwood Park offers great programs for both karate and Tae Kwon Do.  We decided to go with K.H. Kim Taekwondo this time around, and after three sessions she seems to really enjoy it!  I think that the martial arts foundation of respect and self-esteem are invaluable.  Also?  These little beginners are SO darned cute!  Kihap!!!
